Rainbow’s End – Flagstaff, AZ

30 Aug

The Rainbow’s End is a “funky boutique” that I found on my travels out west in downtown Flagstaff, AZ. This funky boutique had so much to look at inside and out. I could have spent hours just browsing through all the cute accessories and wide selection of shoes. The store was full of fun and unique women’s clothing, shoes, and accessories.

What I loved about this boutique is not only was the store full of known designer brands, but it also had a lot of local art, jewelry, bags, wallets, etc. to support the Flagstaff community.

This is the perfect boutique to find a personal gift for a friend, or treat yourself to something special. To take a virtual tour of The Rainbow’s End click here. Below are some of the wallets made by a local Flagstaff artist. Love finding that ‘one of a kind’..

Sorella – Woodstock, NY

18 Apr

Sorella of Woodstock is a women’s clothing boutique found in the center of town. You can’t miss it with its bright turquoise awning. The store looks like a chic boutique you’d find in LA, I absolutely adored it the second I walked in. Sorella is owned by a trio of sisters, one of them which we got to meet while we were there. This boutique is filled with stylish designer clothing from daily casual wear to night out on the town. This store is perfect for finding that one of kind party dress that no one else will have!

This boutique has an amazing selection of women’s designer brands from over sized sweaters, cardigans, scarfs, tanks, jackets, dresses, skirts, jewelry, shoes, and denim. The denim was displayed in the middle of the store, and very easy to shop by brand. I got to try on some new styles of Jbrand jeans while I was there.

The store just has a very cozy and relaxed atmosphere. I love walking in to a boutique and feeling at ease. The merchandise was uniquely displayed which made it fun to shop. There was even a comfy couch in the front of the store that Will could relax on while I browsed the clothes and tried some on. This boutique is definitely worth the drive, and there are plenty of great restaurants and cafes in this town too! Check out our flickr page for more photos and their facebook page for more info!

Eden Boutique – New Paltz, NY

9 Jan

Eden Boutique is a unique find! Located in New Paltz, NY, off the Main Street in the Water Street Market. It’s a small boutique full of beautiful clothing and unique jewelry. The presentation of all the clothing and jewelry is so nice throughout the store. Made it easy and fun to shop.

The inside of Eden had a very spiritual and peaceful decor and atmosphere. There were buddhas, stones, plants, feathers, everything to make you feel calm and tranquil. A lot of the merchandise is displayed on wooden dressers or trunks. Even the business cards were made in fortune cookies!

After speaking with sales girl, (who was great – very helpful!) she told me that the jewelry is all handmade by the owner of the boutique, Maureen Smith. Maureen was on lunch break at the time, but I came back later to meet her. Maureen works from her shop, making all her jewelry by hand. She has a little working space set up in the front. All of her jewelry is available for wholesale. All of the prices in the store seemed affordable and the service was wonderful. I plan to stop in again next time I’m visiting or driving through New Paltz! See more pics of the inside of Eden Boutique on our Flickr page.

Bella Boutique – Philadelphia, PA

8 Jan

Bella Boutique is a vintage and consignment shop located on 4th Street between South and Lombard. When I first walked in, I was so overwhelmed with the amount of vintage designer handbags and jewerly there was, that I could bearly make it past the front room.

When I did walk into the second room, I was even more overwhelmed with the amount of shoes and just racks of clothes in general this store had in it. I’ve been to many consignment shops, but this one was so organized by type of merchandise and colors. There was a huge rack of womens black leather jackets and an amazing rack of vintage furs! Lots of affordable vintage evening wear, and racks of shirts and jeans. There was a small rack of mens clothing in the back of the store that Will enjoyed looking at while I was busy trying on all the shoes and vintage furs.

Of course on my way out, my eye caught an old vintage Gucci strap handbag and I had to ask to look at, it was in the display case right by the register. I tried it on, and with an great offer at a discounted price, it had to be mine! This store will always be remembered for a great collection of vintage clothes, shoes, and designer handbags. Seems like this is the type of store you’d shop in to find a vintage hidden gem! See more photos on our Flickr page!

Nectar – Baltimore, MD

13 Oct

Nectar is a women’s clothing and home goods boutique in Fells Point, Baltimore. The boutique had a very welcoming feel with hardwood floors, bright lights, and small displays which made it easy to shop. The fitting rooms were located in the back room of the store which were gorgeous with gold drapery and chandeliers.

The boutique seemed to have a large array of independent designers. There was a pretty large summer sale section when I was there, and they were just beginning to get in their fall collection. The woman behind the counter was not the owner of the boutique but did mention that the owner, Christine Short does come in her boutique often.

The boutique also had a small selection of baby onsies and hats that were adorable! When I went on their website I saw there was large selection of childrens clothing including: hats, onesies, and flip flops. So cute!! This boutique in Baltimore is quite small, but it looks like there is a lot more to shop on their website. Check out Nectar’s boutique online at http://www.nectarboutique.com.

Trixies Palace – Baltimore, MD

30 Sep

Trixies Palace is a cute little boutique that was located right next to Graphic Novelty (posted below by Will). This boutique was adorable and full of bright colors, vintage inspired clothing, cutesy girly gifts and accessories. The store really seemed to celebrate being a girl!

The girl working was super sweet and friendly. She talked with me for a bit while Will was shopping in the Comic store next door. The store was pretty small but was full of a ton of awesome accessories.I spotted some Hello Kitty merchandise on the shelves, and really liked some of the bags and shoes on display. I guess a lot of items in the store are brought back from the owners travels overseas which makes them all the more unique. Even the fitting room was so cute with doves decorating the wall!

Trixie’s Palace seems to offer reasonable prices. I really wanted to buy something but I had just spent all my extra money on the leather jacket in Cupcake, so I had to hold off. Although.. I couldn’t resist trying on a pair of the rhinestone and studded sunglasses displayed on the way out the door and they were only $10! I will definitely be checking out their website around the holidays for cute gift ideas for my girlfriends.

Cupcake – Baltimore, MD

20 Sep

On our way back home from Myrtle Beach, Will and I stopped in Baltimore and spent the night. We woke up in Fells Point, and walked to South Broadway, a cute little section of town on the water with a bunch of shops and eateries. That’s where we found Cupcake Boutique, which was voted “best boutique” by Baltimore magazine.

Cupcake is a high end women’s fashion boutique, with vendors and styles that are usually found in NYC and L.A. boutiques. They had labels like Nicole Miller, BCBG, J Brand Jeans, 525 America, and Laundry.  I feel like if I lived in Baltimore, Cupcake would be a boutique that I’d go to find an outfit for a special date or an event dress. The store was very easy to shop, it had a nice open feel, and very modern industrial look to it.

Right when I walked in, I couldn’t take my eyes off the manikin on the right with the military green colored leather zip up jacket (photo below).  I immediately asked to try it on and fell in love. The jacket fit perfect, the sales associate Mary Jo was so helpful and friendly. She said that the jacket, designed by Laundry by Shelli Segal just came in earlier that week for their fall collection. The jacket only came in one size run, and the medium was already sold in that first week. That was the selling point right there for me, had to have it! I walked out of Cupcake with a gorgeous new fall leather jacket, that I’m so happy with. My next trip down south will definitely include a stop at Cupcake to check out their latest fashion. Also be sure to check out Cupcake’s blog, where they post new designs and collections that come in.

Copper Penny – Myrtle Beach, SC

1 Sep

The Market Common in Myrtle Beach is the sixth location for Copper Penny, which is a boutique that has been around for twenty years. The owner, Penny Vaigneur opened her first store in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina and now has opened 3 clothing stores, two shoe stores, and a couture bridal salon in the state. This boutique offers a great collection of upscale clothing for women and designer shoes. The store had two entrances, one for clothing and one for “Copper Penny Shooz”, the shoe boutique.

The clothing boutique was the door I walked in first. All the clothes were outfitted and spread out along the walls. There were a couple shelving units full of designer denim and accessories. The denim selection was my favorite! I tried on then fell in love with the new fall Citizens of Humanity skinny jeans in black. The boutique also carried one of my favorite brand for tops and dresses, ella moss.

After I was done looking at everything on the clothing side of the store, I entered the “shooz” room. The shoe and boot collection was pretty fabulous! They had some of my favorite shoe designers including Sam Edelman, BCBG, Michael Kors, Diane Von Furstenberg, etc. I really wanted to buy the new fall Sam Edelman black flats with gold studs (photo on flickr). The sales girl mentioned that they just got them in that day! They also had a beautiful display table of leather cowboy boots. I read on their website that Copper Penny Shooz, was voted “One of the top fifteen shoe stores in America by Shop magazine.” Their shoe collection is also available to order online at http://www.shopcopperpenny.com/allshoes. I was only in the store to browse, but I’m still thinking about those flats and jeans!

izzi~b – Myrtle Beach, SC

29 Aug

This chic women’s boutique, izzi~b just opened up two years ago in the new Market Commons in Myrtle Beach. Right after opening, the store won 2009’s best women’s boutique in the Grand Strand! This store is very modern and simple, all the brands were more on the high-end side. Some brands that stood out to me were James Perse, J Brand, La Rok, and Joie.

The boutique was beautiful and had a nice open feel to it. They have a small concise collection of clothing that is up to date on current trends and styles. I noticed on their website they have a style watch press page you can look at to view new trends in current magazines. Their website is also available to shop online www.izzi-b.com. If you’re ever in the Myrtle Beach area, this boutique is definitely one of the best. Worth a visit, and the Market Common is all new – full of great resturants and many stores to shop.

Du Jardin – Fredricksburg, VA

22 Aug

Du Jardinis a boutique full of fine gifts for home and garden, and personal accessories found only in Fredricksburg, VA. The boutique owner Regina Eisenhower was not in the store, but Erica the sales associate was very attentive and friendly. The store was mainly outdoor furniture, home decor, soaps, and jewelry. There was a few racks of women’s clothing located on the first floor, but not a large selection. The interior design of the store was beautifully done. I felt like it was a boutique you’d find in Paris!

The main entrance of the store had a gorgeous large statue  of a little girl with a watering can in her hands. The entrance to the first floor brought you into a room with a fireplace, beautiful hardwood table, and a unique collage of paintings, displayed on the wall. My favorite table on the first floor was close to the register full of rings designed by Halia. (Will surprised me later with a dainty gold pearl ring he bought off that table) It’s so cute!

The entrance to the second floor was all exposed brick and the stairs down were very steep.  There was not much merchandise downstairs but whatever there was had a unique display. Both upstairs and downstairs had a very European feel to it. The whole store was beautiful to walk through and shop. It’s the perfect boutique to find a gift for your lady friend.
